Forum Targets

The Forum targets for the period 2004-2008 were agreed at the Forum conference in May 2005. These reflect regional priorities based on Scottish Executive measures for improving participation by those in the most economically disadvantaged groups

Scottish Executive Measure 1

Increase in numbers of young people from schools with low progression rates entering higher education

Indicators
Priority Target Groups Indicators of Success
Schools with low progression rates to HE

Increase in numbers (from school leaver destination statistics)

Attitudinal change over a period of time (through longitudinal surveys)

Schools with low progression rates to FE
First in family to enter higher education
Young people from areas of deprivation attending schools with relatively high progression rates
Groups at risk – travellers, underachieving boys, young mothers
Parents, teachers, careers staff and other influencers

Scottish Executive Measure 2

Increase in numbers of adults from Deprivation Zone (DZ) 5 progressing towards higher education

People living in regeneration areas identified in Community Plans

Increase in numbers participating from regeneration areas

Increase in opportunities available for progression

Increased and improved information available

Unemployed adults
